Hi, Based on the fact that the ONLY car seat of any type to ever receive the CREP 5 Star Safety award is this capsule - I would say that this capsule is the safest option compared to any other kind of seat for a newborn. Otherwise - it depends on which capsule and which car seat you are comparing as all other car seats and capsules have different ratings - but none of them rate as well as this one (5 stars) in the CREP Safety tests. I hope this helps...
